Allison & Mosby-Scott Risk Management provides risk management consulting services to businesses throughout the United States. We provide independent risk management consulting services. This means that we work solely in our client’s best interest in establishing risk management solutions to help our clients meet their strategic goals.

Allison & Mosby-Scott Risk Management services are customized for each individual client. We spend the necessary time to understand each client’s business and its goals before we design risk management solutions.

Derek J. Luster

Risk Management Consultant

Derek J. Luster is a Risk Management Consultant with Allison & Mosby-Scott Risk Management where he assists clients in a variety of risk management areas, including program design, merger, acquisition and divestiture due diligence and contract review.

 

In addition to being a Risk Management Consultant, Derek is also an Attorney with the Law Office of Allison & Mosby-Scott where he focuses his practice on commercial and business law, captive insurance and mergers and acquisitions. 

 

Derek leverages his 14-plus years of legal and risk management experience and his broad knowledge-base to assist clients in resolving complex risk management issues so they may reach their goals.

Prior to joining the firm, Derek was Senior Counsel, Mergers & Acquisitions at Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), a publicly-traded, Fortune 50 company. While in this role, Derek was entrusted with handling extraordinary large and complex cross-border transactions, including a $3 billion acquisition of a European flavorings business, the $1.3 billion sale of ADM’s cocoa processing business to a sovereign wealth fund, the $400 million sale of ADM’s chocolate business to a direct competitor of ADM and the $120 million sale of ADM’s Crop Risk Services to a private buyer. Before taking on the role of Senior Counsel, Mergers & Acquisitions, Derek served as Senior Counsel – Business Law at ADM, handling multiple sensitive and complex transactional and commercial issues.

A native of Central Illinois, Derek grew up in a small farming community prior to attending college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. When enrolled there, he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with specializations in both Investments and Banking, and a minor in Accounting. Derek then attended Southern Illinois University School of Law while also working for ADM’s Insurance and Risk Management Department.

Derek and his fiancée, Alexandra Lakshmanan, have two dogs and currently lives in the Denver, CO area. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, outdoor activities, and travel.

Heather Johns

Risk Management Specialist

Heather Johns is a Risk Management Specialist with Allison & Mosby-Scott Risk Management where she assists clients in solving complex risk management issues.

 

In addition to being a risk management specialist, Heather is also an experienced paralegal with the Law Office of Allison & Mosby-Scott.

 

Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and her Paralegal Certificate from Illinois State University.

 

Heather provides a wide range of support for our clients and her careful attention to detail, superior writing ability and working knowledge of numerous areas of risk management and the law make her an invaluable resource to the firm.

 

Heather has been with the Law Office of Allison and Mosby-Scott since 2001.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children.

Ellen Weis

Risk Management Specialist

Ellen Weis is a Risk Management Specialist with Allison & Mosby-Scott Risk Management where she assists clients in solving complex risk management issues.

 

In addition to being a risk management specialist, Ellen is also an experienced paralegal with the Law Office of Allison & Mosby-Scott.

 

Ellen attended Richland Community College in 2010 and received her Associates in Arts before transferring to Illinois State University in 2012.  In 2014, Ellen graduated with her Bachelors in Science from the School of Communication in the field of Public Relations.

 

In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with her cat, Toulouse, her family and friends.   She also enjoys being outdoors, boating, and swimming.
